accelerator pedal bits

  1. for a while the pin at the bottom of my accelerator pedal has tried to work its way out - i keep checking and knocking it back in now and then.
clearly this isn't ideal and my pedal wobbles side to side... so tonight i decided to have a look at it and order the parts but i'm struggling to work out which year my configuration is as it doesn't have a big spring that fits on the middle of the pin (should it have??) or is it an early configuration?

i've found that there are a number of earl bits on my bus and being a 73 this doesn't seem to be too unusual.

can anyone help by looking at it?

It should have the spring - The pin is narrower in the centre where the spring fits, which stops the pin from falling out.

  5. thanks snotty, tbh i've been staring at these and the pic i just took of mine and i can't tell which mine is as the only difference i can see is spring or no spring - mine's not got one but perhaps it should??

am i missing something (marbles, springs etc) or is it glaringly obvious to everyone except me?

Couple of questions regarding the pedal as I have the same setup, but it was falling to bits when I got the van and I have'nt needed to refit it yet,

Is the spring supposed to stop the pedal wobbling side to side,

And also should the pedal bottom out on the bracket thing mounted on the floor in front of the pedal.

  9. I did have a pic of this kind of linkage...but it's gone :(

I'm sure there was a "long finger spring", but mounted at the top of the pedal, rather than the bottom.
