At what point is the fuel system under pressure?

Replacing all fuel pipes on a Type 4 Fuel Injected, there are 2 pipes out of bottom of the tank - 1 feed, 1 return? one goes to the fuel filter then fuel pump then through firewall into the engine bay to injectors. presume it's only pressurised after the pump?, so all from then on is injection spec' hose?, then on the return once after the fuel pressure regulator (which is fastened to the firewall after the injectors have been fed) it's just normal pressure? If anyone can check me on this i would appreciate it, Ta.

  3. i get what you need to know. are you replacing all the pipes but using different pipes for different parts of the fuel system?
if you are replacing the pipes then just use pressure pipe for return as well.
there is only pressure from the pump to the injectors and less pressure for the return.
pressure for petrol inj isnt that high anyway

yeah i bought fuel pipe for unleaded fuel engines and also fuel pipe for injection engines, but the injection quality is more expensive and i bought more than i need of both sorts and the guy said i can return what i don't use, that said i will probably keep it for next time but obviously don't see the point of "wasting" the good stuff on the non pressurised bits.

the hose itself is good quality it was just the pressure part of it i was questioning, as i said, if it's just gravity fed before the pump i'll use the standard for that, this way i have enough of both sorts for future use or credit back, i understand some of you would use "best" all through but for what reason? if not under pressure it's just overkill surely?
