Afternoon all, Last summer we went on a great 2 week trip around France (Bet it was dull around here without me!) with the misses and our mates Ian, ellie and Doug. We did about 1400 miles return from Cherbourg via Torigni sur Vire, Amboise, Lacave, Bordeaux, Lacanau and Brittany. The van went well and I only had to adjust the brakes once and have an oil and air leak to show for it. In typical Doug style, I drove as hard as I wanted and was rewarded with a well running bus. The weather was superb, with rain only during a couple of nights, or on days when we were driving anyway. Most of the time it was in the 30s and in Lacanau it was probably hotter. Heres a few pics of our travels: Quick stop in Torigni Sur Vire on the 1st night: On to Amboise: The Loire at Amboise: Ellie, Ian and Doug: On to Lacave in the Dordogne: A fine specimen after a kayak session: Logged [hr]
After Lacanau we moved on up to Courtils about 30 minutes from Mont St Michel. Nice little site with a great takeaway and facilities. On the way back to Cherbourg we had a quick stop off at Utah Beach: Then it was just a quick punt north to the ferry and a return to Portsmouth for the treck home.
