Glad it ended okay, but it does make you think. I'm getting some hard standing put down in the spring for mine but I may have a think about a post or two at the back.

Alarms and immobilisers make you feel more secure but I guess they are still old vehicles with easy to open locks when all is said and done.

  2. Glad to here you've still got Major you can buy bolt down rings so that you can chain things down as well as a wheel clamp,or you could just get a pile of copper wire and put that in front of Major that might tempt them first.

  3. omg and you live in posh area unlike us dreadin when mine done i,ll get fletch to chain it to house or get a pit bull to live in it >:D glad they dint get it ;D

  6. Sorry to hear this, some real nasty thieving scum about lately, cant help but feel if they do nick a bus/beetle or classic it just gets scrapped. I know things on it are of value but say they nick 5-10 cars a week at £100 a ton thats easy big money.

Scary times. Do what you can to keep it safe mate :-

Cheers for the links and advice guys & gals, much appreciated. I have a wheelclamp fitted, just for starters and next step will be an alarm/tracker type device.

I have spoke to our next door neighbour & she will call the police if anyone so much as goes in the carport (unless I'm with them) & they will gladly act as extra eyes when we are at work.

Long term though I think a secure storage location is the way forward

  9. Sorry to hear this dude
Im glad they didnt get to take major away

  10. Totally sure? We had a guy over the road from work have his X-Trail roll off the drive into the middle of the road. It was locked with the handbrake on but it had slipped a little. The guy was so sure he had pulled it all the way on as well.

Is Major at home this morning?
Terrible news, but clamping etc will deter all but those who are determined to get him.

  12. Anyone else waiting for a new post from Mark saying "oh bugger, just remembered I DID take the van out of the garage and then forgot to put it back before going to work"?

    No.

    Just me then?

    OK.

    Carry on.
