I'm looking at the best way to stop cupboards opening when driving, ive tried rollers but they didn't work any other ideas?
i'm not taking the mick btw - get some westy catches. They work a treat. Or any caravan stylie cupboard catch
I went through loads of ideas, from electro magnets to push latches for my new interior, eventually settled on tried and tested caravan cupboard door locks, very neat and smart and they are available for different thickness doors - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-X-MINI-NICKEL-PUSH-BUTTON-CATCH-door-lock-handle-motorhome-horsebox-camper-/180827471340?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item2a1a283dec
What sort of handles do you have? maybe the Westy type of push latch handles would cover the holes? http://www.germancampercompany.com/westfalia-interior-cupboard-handle-black-p-279.html?zenid=225c6770dbf051db2d3643d9f60afad1 Also what hinges do you have? if they are sprung heavy duty magnets could do the job?
Yes they are sprung, handles are just rod ones from b and q! Have looked in screwfix and might try a double ball fitting
Worth a try, I had magnets on my old interior and they did work, also maybe a lip on the shelves inside to stop stuff actually trying to push them open from the inside?
I would agree trying magnetic catches first, they're easy to install and don't leave any trace on the outside. Plus if you need a stronger latch you can install a couple. Also as majorhangover says, is anything moving about in the cupboards and pushing the doors open? We've got a roll of that non slip plastic stuff and lines all the cupboards in the van with it. Stops all the tins and jars moving around, but also makes it a little quieter as well.
