Hi, In my excitement to give my clutch and brake pedals a respray I forgot to take any photos of the rubber bits I took off. I've bought replacements for all the rubber bits but it's the rubber 'grommet' that fits on the pedal shaft on the inside of the van and helps plug the hole when the pedal is depressed. The question is which way round does it go? Does the long flat rubber bit go on the top or is it the little nobble bit?
It's the other way round. They fit under the floor to stop the draught when the pedal's up. They should be round. Take the pedals off, soak the rubber in hot water and squeeze the oblong end of the pedal through the hole. It does work, honest. <edit> davidoft beat me to it!
Well that shows how old my other ones were as I'm sure they had worked their way into the van! Outside it is!
Thing is it now emphasises the wind from the totem pole so now need to fit the front to rear heater tubes. One repair always leads to something else. Lol
^^^ yeah, I actually thought I'd ordered / received the wrong thing when I opened my order. Especially as I couldn't see how I could fit it on the brake pedal arm easily and I thought it fitted inside the van like the old one!
The spark plug rubbers will do, at a pinch. To complete your draught-free pedal facilities, don't forget there should be a foam surround stuck to the cab floor around the brake & clutch pedals.
