I've found silicone brake grease far more effective than copperslip for curing brake pad squeal. Mainly on Alfa Romeo's and Jags, but same principle though.
Copperslip or copper grease is a high melting point grease for applying on the rear face and edges of the brake pads where they contact the callipers. Don’t use other grease as it will melt & possibly get on the friction surface. There are different high melting point anti squeal grease’s available however to copperslip. So long as they are high melting point.
Last time I renewed the pistons I did liberally coat the inner seal, piston and dust cover in red rubber grease. Fed up with them sticking due to lack of use...
Lol. The bloody things have been sticking for years. I replace one, then the other decides it's going to fill the void I say lack of use, but it's relative I'm probably just fixing stuff that needs replacing. 'Ard to do that innit...
I tend to do things in pairs, if there is a pair to do. Only have to get the tools out once then, innit.
