  4. Yes, we are at CAR. I am heading down there on Monday to get some more pics, now that the front panel has been removed.
Is yours the red camper? I saw him when I dropped my own bus off - will have another look on Monday - what are you having done?

I've given Gary a camera to take photos of yours bus as he works through it. I've also taken a couple. Don't come down!!!! He's looking very sad at the moment :)

  9. Ahhh - thanks for the update - missing the old girl! I look forwards to seeing the pictures. I don't mind the bus looking very sad - as it will make the finished product look even more dramatic!

Having spoken to Buttercup l have been granted the OK to post up pictures as and when on their bus from Gary's paint shop. As with previous posts by Buttercup l will endeavour to cover up the licence plate.

Here is as it stands this weekend.

Wow - that is amazing. Poor old girl...
Here are a couple more from last week too! You can see why the front needed removing...

  13. Nice ! O0

on a other note AHSchofields have just got the inner deformation panel in and they have the other bumper one, (just in case anyone else has been waiting 4 months for them)

  14. crikey, that pic with the front cut off looks scarey!

sounds like its with the right people to sort it out though

looking forward to more updates >:D ;D

  16. Everytime I see the front end off a bus it reminds me that there's zero protection in the advent of a head-on accident. I bet VW were only too pleased to see the back of Bays in 1979. I bet the Eurocrash regs killed them off too. How does it work in Brazil now? Are they made under some sort of licence which VW Germany or the Eurocrash folk have no say over, nor can stop?

  17. Heh heh - the guy doing the work came highly recommended and I know that he will do a good job... (CAR in Croydon). I knew that there were some nasties behind the front panel when I bought her - although wasn't expecting to see quite so much rot there! All good though - makes it out to be an even more spectacular restoration... and you're right - thank goodness I did not bump into anything on my way to the garage - I think that the whole front of the bus would have crumbled, along with my legs! :-
