I'm not as well versed in bugs as you!
To me they were both "early" for having a flat screen (one with bonnet showing) and just "the look of it" with the other.
Please God don't let me get into finding out the differences!

Plaxton bodied coach. It's only a guess but Walace Arnold were Leeds based and Plaxton were from Scarborough.

 

Flat screen Beetles were produced in parallel with the curvy ones, even when they added the MacPherson struts; the 1302 was flat, the was 1303 curvy

Neither of those are MacPherson (late), I don't think.
