Hi, im hoping this is in the right section but im after some advice! My van is a converted panel so the windiws have obviously just been cut in. My problem is on the sliding door, it seems like it was originally 'double skinned' and now the window is mounted to the outer skin and the inner is just rough cut. When i bought the van i had this hideous GRP moulding to cover it up. I feel its really letting the interior down! I just wondered if anyone else has anything like this or know anywhere/thing i could have instead? any help is appreciated! Neil
Our van is a converted panel, and out sliding door was never finished when we bought it. So we have the rubber, then a gap then there was another rubber on the inside skin. I may try and find a more modern rubber from a car boot which has a bit more meat to it so it will fill the gap.. Failing that, just put your cover on as per your picture, i think it looks awesome. Your "hideous" GRP surround is a much sought after goody. I have one for sale if anyone's interested. £50.
i would love to come somerset but its a bit far for us, unless sam persuades me. If you can price up some postage, we may be able to rustle up some more cash. Only if you were offering to part ways with it of course. P
It's only in the garage gathering dust, it's got glue over it so needs a good clean up, it's a bit big and flexible to post. But im not in a rush to get rid of it, so if know off anybody coming this way they can collect £25 sound far it's only a piece of useless fibreglass to me.
It could be an excuse to go to van to west or Bristol volksfest. Let me know what other shows you might be going to some of the Somerset boys might be going they go further afield than me. I endEd up changing my sliding door It was like this all under the window. So have a spare piece of glass too.
Ive been after one of those grp covers for a while now but they dont come up that often and are expensive Im also led to belive there are ones to fit the rear side windows of the van and below but ive never seen them
Has anyone still got one of these GRP mouldings for sale? I've been looking for something like this for ages!
i have a converted panel door with the double layer you're talking about... we found a perfect seal thingy... will get some pics as soon as i can... i'm not very technical sorry but it looks good to me x
