door handle surrounds

Does anybody have the surrounds that go round the cab inner door handles on a two lever type handle, ive been told they are obsolete and i cant find any anywhere.

The word you need to search for is "escutcheon". I picked up mine at the auto jumble at last years Elemental. I'm not sure what you mean by two lever, but for my bus ones made for Beetles also fit.

 

thanks, there are plenty of the ones that have the pop up locking mechanism in the door, but for the two lever locking mechanism in the handle there sdoesnt seem to be any around, the ones at Jk etc are too narrow,

Custom and Commercial do them, I've upgaraded to chrome ones , you can have my old black ones if you want, there still in quite good nick.

 

your talking about early one yeah, as in you have no pull button to lock it with just the second lever. they fit porsche and prototype bay and are pretty hard to come by.

I have the twin leaver handles which I believe are correct for the van however they don't work but then I also have holes in the top of the door but these were blocked and sprayed over!

Does that mean my late bay has early doors?

I need to remove the door cards and work out why the lock lever doesn't work!

Another niggle on the list of little jobs that need sorting, lol...

 

yeah i just ordered the ones on the ebay link, the pics on ebay are of the ones i want , but they sent me the later ones as well!

 

email them and tell them you want the ones in the picture, not the later ones. it even says early in the add

 

there are some shiny chrome ones on ebay right now for a tenner
