Engine Bay Parts

  1. I've got this perforated plastic sheet on the inside roof of the engine bay - looks like sound deadening and the 2 panels are shaped to the roof of the compartment, so look like they are made for a T2. Is this a correct deduction? Riveted in place.

This bulkhead has also been replaced, seems like a plastic part. What is the OEM in this location?

Sorry about the rubbish picture quality, I only had a camera phone with me today.

  2. The stuffing in the engine bay roof is standard sound deadening (that doesn't work very well). Later bays had it wedged between the roof and perforated hardboard panels.

In 2nd pic, are you taking about the big panel in front of the fuel tank? Should be grey-painted steel - never heard of a plastic one.

  3. looks normal to me, i'd check with a magnet unless you're sure it's plastic already

  4.
  5. That firewall must be an original....the lower nearside lip looks like its got an aunthentic bend in it from where a previous owner forgot about the hidden fixing screws.

  6. those screws are hard to find! it took several posts with photo's, descriptions & arrows before I eventually located mine

  7. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

The perforated stuff in the roof is steel as well.
