You can adjust the catch plate in the engine bay. I think its 2 screws, undo them then slide it nearer the lock and refix.

  3. i ll try that when i get home ;)

  4. If its had a new rubber fitted then some of the ones available and the engine hatch wont shut poroperly and if you do get it shut the lid sits proud of the surrounding body work

Someone on the old forum did post where to buy the good fitting seals

  5. yeah this rubber seem to be to fat i thought about triming the back of and glue in it in for now just so i can close the lid

  6. Mines the same my old one was a square shape rubbery foam and it shut fine

My new one was a more rounded profile rubber seal

I adjusted my catch so it would shut but after being fitted for over 6 months the engine hatch still sits proud

  7. i adjusted my catch and it still wont shut damn thing

As Para says, the square profile ones work a treat, the round ones don't work at all. The round ones are rock hard, too deep and get pinched at the top.

Another thing though is if your rear valance has been replaced be aware the repro pants parts aren't deep enough. So you either line up the seal back face or the outer bodywork, or do as I did last time - slice it up and add a 3-4mm strip. PITA but the lid shuts flush and the bodywork is aligned and that's what it's all about.
