What's the best thing to do with worn engine lid hinges? Replace complete or fit new pins? Is it the pins that wear or the material in the hinges?
mines had a cotter pin through one since i bought it, i'd like to repair this but think the hinge would be difficult to budge so a roll pin of the correct dia. would probably be the repair to do
I'm almost sure I got a handful of roll pins to do this myself but just never did, I'll check when I go in the garage & if I have you can have a couple
i fitted new larger pins and trued/reamed the holes .. stainless pins with just a knurl on the end to hold it in .roll pins won`t quite work
