  1. Hi there have completed my complete rebuild of a type1 engine , and sorry for another related oil question ::) but

I have been watching a dvd that was filmed before man learnt to use stone tools !!!! and although it is an excellent dvd to watch and follow , the engine builder recomends a diesel oil as they cope better with the heat and dosnt break down ?

Now bearing in mine this bloke is wearing brown cords and a brown jumper :laugh2: is there any truth in this ?

or shall i just stick to the 20w/50 ive been useing in the past ? its gonna get changed after 300 odd miles anyway just dont want to bugger up all my (hopefully) good work ;)
your views if you please

  2. He's talking sh*te.

Stick 20W50 in it. It's not a Porsche engine.

  3. Furry muff

  4. Acherly using a diesel lube oil was not a bad idea, though a trifle expensive one, in the days before the multigrades became readily available. ;D Like Snotty says 20W50 will do perfectly well.

  7. Green stuff from Halfords. That's as technical as I get but apparently it's the best! ;)
