engine size?

  1. Sure this is one of those stupid questions. I recently bought 79 bay and I thought I had a 1600 engine. I was just sorting out stuff for oil change and found oil filter. Thought they only put oil filter on 1700 engine? Or is this just a mod that someone has done? Is there any obvious way of telling what size the engine is?

  2. if its a 1700 then its prob a t4 motor looking like this

    but a lot cleaner ;D

  3. No it doesn't look like that, apart from the dirt. Looks like you have some fancy carb setup there too. Does that mean that it is a1600 with an oil filter mod then, or were they standard on late models.

  4. If it looks like this then its a T1 engine (1600 or possibly bigger, image borrowed from JK):

    just hang in there :)

  9. That's got a full flow conversion on it... means the engine has been rebuilt some time before you bought the van...

  10. is that a fuel filter i see in there...
wheres the oil filter your on about

  11. Just looks like 1600 with full flow n a twin port at that, could be a 1641 if it's running a full flow oil system. =]

  12. not necessarily a 1641... I full flow 1600 builds... I'd even full flow 12/1300 builds too
