Bosch Exxxxxxxxxcel washing machine, works fine except won't spin. Pumps out water then skips straight from 00:11 to end of cycle, so skips spinning. New brushes in motor, drain hose clear, half a ton of muck cleaned from sump, hoses to drain and air pressure switch clear. Apart from no spin, works just fine. Any ideas?
Possibly thinks, in error, that the wash load is off balance? Modern machines usually refuse to spin if the wash load is off balance and likely to cause excessive vibrations in the unit; in theory it should prevent damage, but I bet it causes as many problems as it solves...
Did consider that, but refuses to spin even with nothing in the machine. Odd thing is, after changing the brushes a while back, was working just fine. Then it decided it doesn't like spinning any more. If it does have a load sensor, I can't find it.
Initially no spin on an Exxxxel is 9 times out of 10 brushes ... Are they possibly stuck in the brass housings ?? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Thanks Chris. I did make it so they were nice and slidey, but I’ll have another go. It must have heard you, as half way through a test run, the motor’s stopped even though you can hear the relay clacking. Assume motor failures (apart from brushes) are fairly rare?
Obviously check for any bad block connections when you whip the motor off to check the brushes , i`ve had motors fail in the past but not a common problem . Worth cleaning the armature with contact cleaner + Scotchbrite , better still a fibreglass pencil which i only mention because i`d expect you , if anyone , to posess such an item
Right, spinnage is restored. Got me little brush out and cleaned 15 years worth of graphity gunge off the commutator. Don’t know why I didn’t do it before. Surprised the motor was working at all. Sorted How often do the air pressure switches pack up? Bought a new one just in case, but will prob send it back, as it was a ridiculous price.
