Hi folks I've been lurking here since getting a 1974 Westfalia US import about 6 months ago. In addition to general servicing, jobs done to date have included replacing holed oil cooler (garage did that one), fixing fan hub oil leak, rocker cover oil leak, replacing ancient on board charger and most of the leisure wiring, new leisure battery, changed all tyres for Vantras, fixed all the broken instrument panel lights, fitted a 123 dizzy, added a vacuum advance to the carb, moved the petrol filter & pump under the bus, replaced all fuel hoses and added a cut off solenoid and inertia switch, replaced missing gearahift bush. Still much to do, next job is breathers. In return our van has given us 8 great weekends away from South Devon to the Gower. Really impressed by how well she goes and how practical she is for camping. This site has been a brilliant resource, thank you all, Ian.
Welcome to the forum Ian. Glad its been of use to you and encouraged you to get stuck in and carry out essential repairs. Feel free to post up some links and pictures / reviews in the camping section. You have got to love Westfalia's for practicality!
Am going to try to add a picture. Here we are taking a break on the way back from Devon (with the M5 shut, turning it into a 6 hour journey).
