So, no appeal from Mercedes. I think that's the best outcome to be fair, nobody wants the result to be overturned that way. FIA are going to do a "detailed analysis" of the race - i think that feels like an admission that their chap didn't do a great job. Hopefully that'll lead to a better / more consistent application of rules for next year.
Nah, denied the chance by Merc pulling out, they want the opportunity to say it's all good on balance.
I couldn’t see the result being overturned through an FIA appeal process anyway. Lets see how Netflix covers it - hopefully they will show the championship result as unfair and it will go down in history as such. However they will want to cover the next season so may be persuaded otherwise by the FIA. Apparently Bernie Eccleston has said that he doesn’t want anyone to beat Schumacher’s 7 championships. That says it all really.
No surprise there, that's because the schumacher era was when Bernie was in charge. Ecclestone never has anything good to say about hamilton. Jackie Stewart the same, always negative comments. Make of that what you will.
So, Lewis may be penalised for not turning up to the prize giving ceremony. The new FIA president really looks like he’s taking great strides towards repairing the tarnished image of F1 : "If there is any breach, there is no forgiveness in this," Ben Sulayem said. Asked to clarify whether he was saying Hamilton would be penalised for not attending the gala, he said: "Forgiveness is always there. But rules are rules. "I know Lewis is really sad about what happened. I would say he is broken. But we have to look into if there is any breach. [After] a few hours now as president, I cannot give answers without going back to the facts." Shall we start 2022 with a points deduction and see if can nearly win the championship again?! Maybe make him race with only three wheels… hold on, that didn’t stop him either! I really do wonder how much money Amazon or Netfix are pumping into this drama!
**** BREAKING NEWS!! **** LEWIS HAMILTON TO RETIRE!! It has been reported he wishes to leave F1 to pursue a career in music, however his request to join the group, Musical Youth, was rejected on the basis that he couldn't pass the dutchie on the left hand side...
You had me for a minute. I think Karun dropped that line last year as Max passed the Dutch fans in the grandstand at the Red Bull ring... didn't register with the race focused co-comentators.
F1 Animated Video: The alternative take on 2021 season | Formula 1® ^ made me chuckle anyone else looking forward to march already? do we need to start a new 2022 thread..??
I was a casual Sunday evening viewer who took a rejuvenated interest as the season progressed and Mercedes were finally being challenged... Then came the cliffhanger finale which showed F1 to be exactly what it has become - a farce . I may catch the odd race but so long as the drivers all come back that's fine by me and to be honest if you watch a minute long clip on the news that'll be enough.. yes but new rules should make it more exciting. apparently they now have to parallel park when stopping and they only get one spare tyre. Run-flats are banned and points are deducted for using a space saver! All Dutch drivers now have to pass on the left!
