i think i know the answer but before i get the grinder out i'll make sure, i want to remove the front bumper, the 4 bolts are behind the rubber bump strip but the heads are non existant, rusted away, i just want to check they go into captive nuts behind the bumper? and hopefully if i grind the heads off i'll be able to get a mole grip on the stub that is left to remove them? picture shows head of bolt.
A good wire brushing and a soak in Plusgas or a similar release oil, (not WD40), prior to any attempt at removal would be beneficial too. Also try to screw them in a turn to crack the rust before unscrewing.
Or just tie some tow rope around it. Then attach the rope to a concrete lamp post. Then get in your bus and reverse. I saw someone remove a bumper from a Bay that way in Australia once. Worked a treat.
Don't they fit over the bumper or are the fronts bolted through the bumper bracket?? Do as described about soaking those bolts.
try cutting a slot across the bolt head with the grinder and a 1mm cutting disk then unscrew with the impact driver or a large flat screw driver, if that doesnt work then grind the head off
..and if your No plate is on the bumper, the screws will be through into the deformation panel, so good idea to unscrew them first.
i removed the numberplate bracket that the cali plate was on i'm not having the u.s plate on this year, the u.k plate is on a bracket above the bumper.
