Hi all Can this type of belt be fitted to the front? And if so where would the 3rd mount go? The belt I have at the moment, the reel is mounted to the tub and the other end up on the pillar so the feed comes from pulling up not down like modern vehicles. (I don't know if this is right) Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
It should be reel down on the tub, up to triangular bracket on pillar, back down to the other end on the tub.
Two ends on the same fixing by the bottom of the seat "middle one " up behind your shoulder... Hope you can make it out just fitted a "Universal Seatbelts" one last night.. get a pair for the price of the securon one... but you don't get the brackets to give you more options Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
They will fit perfect, we have that set in our buses. Fit them as Baysearcher and Deefer suggest and you’ll be fine
Check normal car parts places online though. Probably cheaper than buying through a VW place and getting stiffed for scene tax.
If you have a walkthrough then the seatbelt buckle stalk mounting holes will be low down in the walkthrough near the floor to the back of the seat.
Securon belts, when fitted in a T2 are not long enough for big people like me, I have them fitted, and hate them! They constantly pull on you because you are close to the end of the reel. Tony
I think God might be telling you to go on a diet, Tony I’ve found the Securon front belts to be fine, with plenty of slack. You can get them cheaper from eBay suppliers.
Dredging up this thread again as I need a new drivers side seat belt..... fancied having nice grey ones to match in (yeah, I know...) so are all of these okay, or one better than the others? and whats the odds with the stalk length - some say 45cm, one says 30cm... is there a 'proper' length that it should be? https://www.heritagepartscentre.com...buckle-and-grey-webbing-for-walk-through.html https://www.justkampers.com/grey-front-seatbelt-kit-vw-t2-split-1950-1967-vw-t2-bay-1967-1979.html https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-...&brand=Securon&_trksid=p2334524.c100667.m2042 The reel of my seat belts are currently bolted through the bulkhead, rather than using the angle bracket into the wheel tub. I assume this is acceptable?
The second coming of this thread.... Does anybody have a photo of the seatbelt fixing point in the walkway as they should be? Mine below has a bolt and nut configuration and may not be as intended. The hole just above where mine are currently fixed (all solid metal afaik) is a captive thread. Is this the original and better place? I ask as I'm planning some work in the area and this could make a difference. Thanks
Either the captive nut has come loose(doubtful) Or possibly they didn’t have the correct bolt so they have put a smaller bolt through and put a nut on the end Maybe it’s as it’s supposed to be and Chris has got confused with the captive nut.
Cheers guys, just back from food shopping....aaaaagh Anyway, top captive has no visible nut but bottoms bolt has a nut at the other end (not me ) See picture below from inside..
