Its the sea snails have chewed through the brake booster..probably sucked sea air into the servo every time "Hans" took his foot off the brake while shifting seafood around.
I'll jack her up and have a better look through the week cheers all Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
Found the leak it's coming out that little hole. Is that normal? What do I need to do guys is it a new servo? Masters cylinder? Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
Forgive me if this is a daft question but I removed my old servo and master cylinder and the servo was full of brake fluid I'm talking over a litre I wasn't expecting that i always thought they just had air in them? Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
Just change the master cylinder because more than likely the rear seal is leaking into the servo .Fit new pressure switches and fill with fluid prior to fitting .
They have a membrane powered by vacuum from the intake manifold. This will suck fluid from anywhere there's a leak and fill the servo can up. Might get away with just changing the m/c.
Old servo is very rusty and I've already bought a new one so I may as well fit it. Cheers guys Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
If you need new servo air hose get it from Mercedes (not expensive ).It is exactly the same size and construction as original VW .Aftermarket hose is too big and bulbous especially when.it goes through to the engine .
I got one from buttys bits. I assume I just set it to the length of my old one? Someone has welded the nut to the shaft on my old one. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
No, you set it so that there's about say 1mm play in the pedal before it contacts the m/c rod. Too tight, and your brakes won't release properly.
