Just got back from a few nights away in Northumberland at Highburn House campsite at Wooler in Northumberland. http://www.highburn-house.co.uk/ Quite a nice site about 15 miles from Bamburgh castle right on the edge of the Northumberland national park. Cost us £20 a night with hookup. Place was full of rabbits which drove our dogs crazy but they weren't interested in the ducks at all. So tame you had to keep the awning shut as they kept coming in to say hello looking for food. Our dogs just ignore them as the walked in. Under 20 miles from Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick and only 30 miles from Druridge bay country park. Miles of possibly the cleanest sandy beaches i've ever seen in the UK only 20 minutes drive away too. Farne Islands Bamburgh castle. Bed hog.
Yes us geordies know all about Northumberland but keep it a secret Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hadn't been since i was a kid, though nowts really changed in the past 35 or so years. Roads are seriously poo though. Never seen so many potholes. Nice theres free parking in most of the towns though. Weather wasn't too bad to be honest. A bit of rain overnight and some drizzle during thursday but nowt like what was forcast. I blame me taking a spare change of clothes for each day for when i got soaked.
