    Hi all,

As my engine nears completion I wonder if anyone can enlighten me as to what these bits do...

There are three bolt holes on the N/S end of the fan housing...

There are two captive nuts on the front tinwear by the hole that the fuel pipe goes through

What's the big hole for in the bell end of the crank case, on the N/S half?

Is there a grommet to go around the oil filler?

    Cheers, Andy.

  2. Pic two: captive nuts are for the carb pre warm pipe but your tinware hasn't got the hole for it.

Pic three: this is for either a timing do dar or a rev counter.

    Pic four: yes

Rev counters work off pulses of electric (the VDO one we have does) from the coil - I doubt that is for a rev counter

  5. Timing sensor is what I was pushing for. Lol

    Thanks for the replies....

Pic one... happy with spare holes! I was panicing that there was a piece of tin missing!!

Pic two.... I think they might be a bit high for heat elbow brackets, but they're in the corner of the room, i might mock up the exhaust parts at the weekend!

Pic three... the timing sensor is on the other side i think... which I was told was diagnostic equipment that doesn't exist anymore!!

    Pic four... i'll go searching!
