  1. Hi

I have just got my van back from the garage and its come back worse than it went in. They have done something to the indercator switch. It no longer works (doesnt click into place) is this a easy fix? Im not taking it back to the garage £600 to get the van back in worse condition

  2. which indicator switch have you got? only being a 72 i'm not sure if its an early, or an early late? do you have a seperate wiper switch on the other side of the column and flattened out at the end of the stalks?

  3. it an early one, please dont hate me for that.

  6. I had to change the indicator switch on my 72 and it was a pain. The old one had fallen apart so I got a new one from VWH that was fitted and didn't work (at £120!). I had to argue for a repacement but did get one, which is now fitted, but it's still a pretty shoddy piece of work for the money. The garage commented on how rubbish the switch was when they did the MoT.

So, they do fail, but try and find a good used one and don't pay the £120 + for a new repro from VWH.
