Is it me, or are insects making a comeback? I’ve been collecting the little buggers on the windscreen in the sort of quantities that I haven’t seen for years.

    Anyone else noticed an increase

Well got to be a good sign ...as there was talk of the lack of them on your windscreen due to insecticides .

Probably all a super-race of insecticide tolerant greenfly the way things go. :(

With all this standing water and wet ground, prepare yourself for mosquitoes…

  6. Yup the windscreen on the daily is smattered with them this year
Maybe less traffic on the roads during the lockdowns helped them build population numbers back up:thinking:

  10. The real peril of course is Border Collies learning to use firearms. Only the lack of an opposable thumb is keeping humanity safe...

  11. It is really good news that bugs are making a come back. I have noticed this when out on my bike. For years I would get home and not have to clean my cycling glasses. Now I have to take a cloth out with me. Problem is that bees have been decimated over the last 10 years. hopefully we will begin to see an increase in bees too.

Insects probably the oldest living things on earth. 480 million years since they evolved.
They will still be here after we blow ourselves to bits

This thread title very much works with the song 'Midnight at the Oasis'.
