It's alive!!!

  1. Hi all

I am delighted to report that my bus is on the road again. Yee Haw!!!!

The engine was in a right old state and after being whipped out (ooh er matron) by my Dad and me, it went off to get rebuilt by Laurie P up in Scotland. We got it back in a couple of weeks ago but it wouldn't run at first. Very weak spark. Top tips from on here and a steer from Laurie pointed me at checking the earth straps. Turns out both the gearbox to chassis one was a bit knackered as was the battery to body one.

Once fixed she burst into life. The spark now jumps 1/2" no bother (thats a 123 dissy and a flamethrower for you I guess).

We spent yesterday driving around Derbyshire with cheesy grins plastered across our faces. So much so I forgot to take any photos. Still, here is one of the refurbed engine after refitting (but before I had finished re-connecting the coil etc.

    Happy days indeed!

Great news - may meet you on the Derbyshire roads sometime.

Spend a bit of time on those myself :)

Bertiebot's on the road. Well done that man!

  6. don't forget the correct run in procedure - you don't want to undo all the hard work.
