JK have bought themselves a project bus which they are fitting out with a few bits and bobs. Project would be an exaggeration, but the guys are getting stuck in. Now I like the guys and gals at JK as people and they are very helpful and generally accomodating when they send out pants parts, but I think some of their products go a bit awry from time to time, so I posted that their fitting ply ceiling panel kit looks dodgy and suggested it might be fun to challenge them to build a bus from parts they sell to the likes of you and I (and Jonnysensi) that we find...awkward to fit.

I've volunteered a pair of cab doors and some wiper spindles I have knocking about. If you feel the need to join in, the thread is here.:)

Just for fun like, The chaps are good guys, so lets keep it amusing if possible.

  2. Just had a read through and chuckled at your comments zed

Don't get me wrong - I buy loads of nice stuff from JK.
But what makes me laugh is the way when they have a duff batch they deny they've had any complaints until they've sold it all, so at the least I think they deserve a little gentle winding up. :)

  9. I like the 'Shaun replaced the door seals, and was talking about how much he loves the new seals we stock, even though both Pete and I are well aware of how good they are...' quote. Although I don't quite know how to take this? They fit like wet spaghetti? or they fit like a glove?

I need new seals and this seems to be a big debate who stocks the best.

PS Zed, keep up the good work!

I got to say I happily buy JK door seals all the time. :) Just look for the most expensive of each type on offer and buy those. They sell the cheap ones as well because if they didn't, people would go and buy cheap seals elsewhere. As they say " there's no such thing as a bargain".

I don't want to turn this into "attack JK", Just have a bit of fun - I doubt they look on here and I have a good relationship with them so I don't want to annoy them (too much). Just poke them a bit in the nicest possible way :)

  11. Ta for that.

JK would get alot of respect (if that's the right term) from using their own parts and listing them - whilst being honest in the process. It would build more confidence from people that are new to the scene (such as myself) and would be more willing to part with their hard earned - knowing that the parts fit/work/have lasted etc.

But then we do live in a world whereby it's ok to bend the truth...

l think that's a brilliant idea and l wish them well. Having only used a few items l have been pleased with JK but having seen some of the more elaborate and costly deluxe trim they sell and all the documented problems on internet forums l am inclined to not use them. that said however l have been caught out by the bigger boys in the scene.

  14. Thats a great idea Zed, using their own stock :) K+

To be honest, I've never had any problems with JK ..... the panels they sell are pretty much the same as every one else sells, I guess the proof will be if I order any of the finishing bits for my bus.

When ever I've had a problem they have always taken the part back and refunded me with no problems

.....I have a hard enough time keeping up with all the restos on here ! ....but I'll have a look anyway ;D

An artists impression of the finished JK bus ;D

(only joking -Been disappointed with the odd item, and very pleased with others. Which is the same experience I've had with all the major companies. Good luck to them ;D )

Yep, but lets see if we can encourage them to atempt to fit some of their boo-boo's to their own bus. Instead of moaning on here, visit the thread and challenge them to fit the part. ;) They're asking for it. When I have time I'm going down there with the cab doors. Perhaps open day. :)

  17. My rear number plate light and seal was superb (JK). Hopefully replacement parts will be kept to a minimum. I'd like to drive the bloody thing sometime this year!

  18. good luck jk on your project....
