Le Mans 2012

  1. Hi all,

Advice really please. I've been asked if I'd like to go to Le Mans this year. There would be a group of us going down there, some in silly expensive cars and I was thinking about taking the camper as I could sleep in it while the fancy car drivers have to rough it in a tent.

Has anyone been, is it worth going, do you have to get there days before, is camping / campering ok there etc etc etc, any tips?

We went many years ago, it was a brilliant time.
No camper just a hire car & a tent.

  5. This is one of my must do before I die things, actually think it's the only one on the list.

We was in Le Mans a few years ago for a friends wedding on the race weekend we could hear the cars but not see them, in the evening I as where could we see it too the answer was not around here.
So annoyed the next morning to have some of their friends say to us you should have come down the road and seen the racing. So I've heard weekends race live but not seen it.

Our friends parents have built a big house/ chateau a few miles outside Le mans and used to put up the jaguar and Nissan racing teams there from the drivers to big bosses.

  8. They stopped the hospiality stuff quite a while ago, they now look after OAP's, they get more money from the government to look after them. Still would be a nice place to be looked after though.

  9. Couple of the guys going are over 60, I could get them to be a bit deaf and maybe smell of wee.

    Could they blend in? ;)

  10. Thell blend in well with the French.
