Leisure Battery Options

  1. From reviewing previous threads a lot of you recommend the Elecsol Leisure Battery 110. Is this a tight fit?

I will have to relocate my fire extinguisher, but will I have to hammer out the bottom of the spare wheel arch. to get height clearance?

    Any pics anyone ??

Has anyone got the Elecsol 100 Fitted instead? I will only be running stereo/amp/TV/DVD/lights and 12v sockets off it (wife needs to plug her hair straighteners in some where !!!)

Also, is it big issue which way round the positive and negative terminals are, or do you just turn the battery around?

link to Elecsol Batteries. Not a bad price.

  2. You might find it a bit awkward getting at your battery terminals if they face outboard. Quick release might just be manageable but spannering up normal clamps would be a pig.

I have one its worked fine but i have only had it a year.
I dont know about the clearance as i took the spare wheel well out.

So from the link. The 1st or 3rd battery, would be ideal. Just depends on the length of the larger one!

  5. dont hammer anything in to fit a battery!!!!!! just buy the right one in the first place! you want one with the terminals in the correct orientation so when your looking at the battery the negative terminal it is to the left front, this is the most common setup in normal leisure batterys. you will need to fit a clamping strip at the rear of the battery to hold it and a bolt on clamp at the front

  6. Ordered two battery clamps, as my main battery has not got one either !!

Not sure what the right one is though?? If the Elecsol 110 fits, I'll buy it, if not the maybe the Elecsol 100, or open to suggestions.
