Loose wire... no idea where it came from o_O

  1. I have just driven home with a lovely new engine from the VW Engine Company (what great peeps they are).

No power to radio, 12v plug or leisure battery. RCD hasn't tripped, everything set to on.

I think one connector appears to not have been put back in — wondering if anyone can tell me where it goes?

A couple of videos I've made. It goes into a bigger black wire sleeve with other wires, which goes to the front right of the engine bay near the car battery.

I know zip about electrics — I purchased this bus with this set up in place.

    Cheers

If it’s running well, it’s probably a redundant wire from a previous owners additions or modifications that would appear to have been removed.
Perhaps tidy up the covering and secure out of the way.

It looks to me like not stock, and with the fuse and the fact it runs forward in the bus.. and the stereo doesnt work.. I would guess its meant to go to the leisure battery side of the Durite relay ( which may be so old school its missing a wire too from the alternator D+ terminal) .

I.e. its the power for the stereo..

If you can wait and you are close enough to Lutterworth, buy a cheap multimeter, come to Techenders ...and we will show you how to work it out.

  4. Dont know but... Your missing the adjustment bung for the alternator tin, and need to block off the heat exchanger hole in the tinware :)
