Work begins - been sat in a garage in Holland since purchased him but now work begins and will get ready for a road trip at Easter - once mechanically sound and checked over will return to UK for an MOT. So far apart from needing a new battery tray and 4 cv boots all looking good. Underneath super solid and no oil leaks. Engine seems strong and raring to go once serviced and tuned up a bit. This was mad Frankie’s van and excited to get it back in action on the road. Home made camping interior stripped out and original transporter rear seats going back in -when purchased the whole original interior was included so lovely to put back as original. I was looking at a respray but I can’t bring myself to paint over the patina - it’s pretty much rust free but has lovely old paint with all its chips dents and dings just makes it.
Plan is to mop the body work and then clear coat - it’s got an honest look about it and my other bus ‘billy’ is more on the perfect side and perhaps this one can be the more relaxing drive!
