That's a good write-up. He makes the point (often forgotten) that the main purpose (in fact, the only purpose) of the stat-n-flaps is to get the engine up to operating temp as quick as possible, thus reducing wear on the bores and other parts.
Only a few times but a reminder is always good. Especially for those that believe a thermostat is unnecessary.
