  1. Just got this new Forst caliper from Heritage
Would have liked the hole in the centre?
    Well it affect anything?
    Keep or return?

  2. Do the holes match up with the steering knuckle accurately? If so, it's ok. The casting's approximate.

  3. Just checked. Yep. Both screw in.
Guess there's plenty of landing space on the disc.

  4. Should be ok if the caliper's correctly positioned with the bolts in.

    Rubbish casting though!

  6. They all look like that. My ATEs were the same. They're fine.

You must mean the newer ones do. My OG set I’ve refurbished here and are awaiting fitting are smooth cast and the holes are spot on dead centre. Never had repro ones so I’ll take your word for it :)

  8. ATEs were original equipment, along with Girling. Only difference is mine are Brazilian. The finish on the casting won't affect how the brakes work ;)

I know I’m just saying the quality of the castling is pants compared to mine. I know it doesn’t make any difference to performance but I like the idea manufacturers pay attention to the finish of things otherwise they just look poor quality. Probably mild OCD. As you say it makes no difference really!

  10. Probably cast in a different way? Looks like they used rather coarse sand on the above.

  11. Closer look and the holes are spot on centre on the other face of the hole,
They are square, just happen to pop out off centre a bit due to the casting.
Well keep and fit - @77 Westy can still have the others ;)
