Hi everyone! I'm so glad I found this site and am wondering if anyone can help me? I'm an English guy living out in Spain. I really want to buy a VW T2, tin top. Not sure if that's bay window!? Basically I have a friend who is willing to help me on a restore project. Ideally I am looking for road legal, mot'd etc camper with a solid engine. I am not fussed with the interior as I have friends who do upholstery etc. Appreciate any help with the sale and also the paperwork side of things as I would be exporting the vehicle and driving back to Spain. I have read up on dvla stuff and as far as I can tell I don't have to reside on the uk to complete the transfer. Thanks guys
Welcome to the site buddy. Are there none for sale in Spain. Might save you a lot of hassle! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Some of this will be useful: http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/things-new-bay-owners-should-know-thread.19058/ PM @Merlin Cat who I think lives in Spain and may be able to help.
Thanks lads, yes I could buy in Spain but these locals must be smoking too much wacky backy if they think I'm going to pay what they're asking! I think buying in uk is my best option, just need a solid runner and a good week off work.
Yes all cars are! Bloody joke campers are a little hard to come by too. Great place to enjoy one though '
Welcome to TLB if its uk road legal and you plan to drive it over to spain, then surely its more a case of importing to spain than exporting from the uk?
be careful ,you cannot import panel van conversions into Spain.. Have you tried France or Germany even better ,and closer?.....
Not sure if a double side is my cup of tea. Can you not import panel vans? This one is in Tenerife so tricky to get here to mallorca anyway. Actually looking at sambas now too.
what is a double sided? Merlin tried to import a converted panel van ,which is a panelvan with the panels cut out and replaced with windows, she found the Spain system, it would be impossible to import, even though it was there already.....
i love the panelvan i linked and it's a 68 which is on my wish list, but driving a left hand drive panel in the u.k is madness....... or hardcore.
Its great when your the passenger though...the look on oncoming drivers faces when you pretend to jump out is priceless...
i drive a left hand drive myself but pulling out of junctions would be mental in a panelvan, i replaced my jalousie window with a sliding one and the vision has improved, i can't imagine only having the passenger window to use.
