hi guys new to site. After years of loving the idea of owning a bay, we are now in the position ( i think) to purchase a van. Done a few VW festivals and viewed a couple of vans and has made us want to be a proud owner of one. Prefeably want a pop top, with mot and not to many issues. my budget is perhaps towards the lower end of the spectrum. I know this wont get show condition but i hope a clean useable van could be attainable. Anybody with anything for sale or any advice or anything that could help would be great. Cheers lee and lauz
hi welcome, 1st advice? don't tell anyone your budget! don't spend the lot then think you'll not have to spend anymore for a bit, there's always cash to spend on these vans (example - I bought mine - used all my cash to do it then couldn't use it for the 1st 6 months as I had no money!)
Cheers rickyroo1 suppose ive made my first mistake lol. From reading some sites i think whatever you spend on a van theres always more to spend.
http://thelatebay.com/index.php?thr...tfalia-t2-campervan-californian-import.23085/ That is a bargain if its still available.
Ditto making sure you have some money left over in the pot. I've had ours for over a year and don't think I've had a single month of not spending something on it. I'm pretty sure I paid way too much for our van (should've got on the late bay earlier!) but I've got it now and it's only money at the end of the day.
mine is for sale here.... http://thelatebay.com/index.php?thr...-rhd-uk-camper-£6k-nr-stansted-airport.15717/ Getting a new MOT and TAX this month... Price negotiable
Hi lee and lauz Welcome to the site. I reckon Rick's right about declaring you budget but it does look like there a few for you to choose from so good luck in your search.
Cheers lofty. To late take back what my budget is, hopefully find the right van soon Can't wait use a van instead of my estate passat for shows n weekenders lol
Don't be too afraid if the engine is rubbish. The worst case is a replacement engine which will be a fixed cost, unlike bodywork.
you can edit your original post and remove the figure - not all potential sellers will rip you off but it's suprising if you have a set figure posted up how many come in at that price.......
In fairness to the lad, if he'd not declared his budget I might have offered him mine. (Flat 6 engined, Marshall 10,000 watt sound system and Jacuzzi - £45,000)
