Oh no!!!!!

  1. Just decided to clean and set the spark plugs. Did the first 3 fine, but came to the last one, not sure what number plug it is, but it's the one nearest to the distributor, type 4 engine, and I dropped it inside the cylinder head cover. :-[ I was able to feel it at first, and even managed to get hold of it with a pair of surgical forceps, but wasn't able to manoeuvre it back out of the hole. :( Have now taken the other plug out, and the little rubber cover at the side to give more access, but can't even feel it now. Is it possible to get the cover off? or if not what is the significance of leaving the plug where it is and just getting a replacement? :-[

this is a common occourance....there will be many a van with a plug left in i'm sure, it's not going to do any damage i can see, but will your o.c.d let you leave it? mmmm well? mine wouldn't!, i read on here only a few weeks ago someone did exactly the same.

  6. on a more serious note ::) if you keep hunting away with the forceps you will eventualy find it or do what some po did to mine and attack the hole with a pair of tin snips
