Oil temp sender

I want to fit an oil temperature sender to type 4 engine.
I have bought this oil pressure relief valve plug adapted to fit a VDO oil temp sender.
Can you point me in the right direction to find the existing relief valve plug?

 

Bottom of the engine at the back (back as in rear of the bus) near the oil pump.

Is it near the oil filter?
