Sounds like Techenders will be brilliant for you. You can join in with some of us chatting about when we did this that and the other and inadvertently you will learn something. I usually pick up a little something every time I go. There are a few that actually do things , mostly I just chat about stuff and invent new ways to bodge things and have a beer or two. You will be made extremely welcome by everyone and I promise you that no one Will make anything more of this post than a bit of fun and hopefully you’ll love driving your van again especially when it steers nicely and changes gear without a pulley on the gearshift.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, the oil drips though,,, HHhhmmmm HiiSSSSsssssssss:)

    Answer: Never!
I'm currently repainting my sills as they had a few scabby bits creeping in.

  7. @Zed I’m sure you mentioned mudflaps on this thread but can’t find it now.

Anyway, got the bits and ran into a classic problem on rear drivers side :(

Fitting mud-flaps doesn't seem to be a priority repair? :)
Fixing that so-called closing panel would be a higher priority for me, but again even that would be at the end of my bodywork repairs plan as you'll probably find you need to repair the parts it attaches to and to repair those parts you're into the rear inner arch you said was "rust chopped out" but not replaced. So there you go - inner arch - closing panel - mudflaps. Yep - it gets worse, you might have to chop the rear arch off to repair the inner one.... all to end up finally fitting your mudflaps which you will curse every time you check your tappets. lol

Put the flaps back on your shelf?

  10. They’re the things I’m unable to do I guess so until I can book some welding in with someone and attack the list of welding priorities, I’m just doing the bits I can do.

    I know, I know.
Best avoid fitting stuff that will make your welder jobs harder even if that's just requiring more caution to work around the new pretty bits. Bodywork is a messy business.

Who remembers Jimbo from JK forum? Jimbo brought his bus to me for a new front panel or front arches, I forget which. When he turned up, his dash was piled high with stuff, bed out and made etc etc - like he was camping. I asked him why he hadn't cleared it up ready - "I thought you'd have some dust sheets or something".

The classic really is the peeps who spend £ on the interior then have to rip it all back out to fix the bodywork. Someone has to remove store and protect that from damage meanwhile and it ain't the welder's job.
