I'm on a hunt for my first camper. You can see what I'm after in my post in the "introduce yourself" section. Anyway, my search has expanded to possible imports. I think I may have found a honey trap..... First, here the link to the eBay classified sale out in the US: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331609427556?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT All looks nice, belly looks fine, interior pretty good, ticks all the boxes in terms of my search... BUT WAIT... I was a bit sceptical about the paint job - what's it hiding? So I got in touch with the vendor and asked for pictures of the bus before the paint job (and if possible during the paint job). Nothing was available of it actually in the workshop, but she did provide some photos of the van before it was painted: http://s259.photobucket.com/user/ljosbo/library/78 Beige Deluxe 06-15?sort=3&page=1 So, apart from the crunch in the auto gearbox halfway through the video, I was getting more keen and it was feeling less risky. But I still wanted to do a bit more digging before the final step of getting a specialist to go and view the van on my behalf so I googled her email address and it uncovered this: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/vi...&start=0&sid=251eb40f54a554eca1193f11066b0ebc So...although it seems like the van I want, in the nick I want and every piece of evidence points to it being ok (plus I would double check independently anyway) I think I will forget this van. Do you lot agree??
I can't be bothered to look at the links but if your suspicions have been raised; walk away. These aren't rare vehicles so there are plenty for sale, both here and in the U.S.
@Lord Congi I know, that's why I was interested in the first place. All looked pretty open and honest. Shame but I think I need to walk.
