I put my oil at the bottom in that spot as fits perfectly but wasted space above - maybe it could have a pocket for the oil and then tool pockets above so clean and tidy way to store everything perhaps
Kim and Di sent me some pictures of the bed cushions I recently made for them all installed in their van “Todd”. They look spot on in this little blue bus, complete with matching keyring.
I’ll be starting on my next customer interior build over the coming weeks. I’m particularly excited about this one as it’s just an incredible looking car. Milo’s Audi 100 is a classic 1970s build, with the black paint giving it a real mean look about it. Watch this space as I start on the interior.
I said to Milo it looked like a proper gangster car and then he showed me the boot! You could fit a few bodies in there.
The first bits of upholstery all finished up for Milo’s Audi 100. This is turning into something quite special with Milo’s choice of oxblood red material and diamond pleats really singing together.
Cheers buddy These were a surprisingly complicated seat to take apart with numerous springs, circlips and other components to take apart, half the battle was trying to take them apart without breaking anything! The main springs for the back tilt mechanism are pure evil and I managed to break both of my spring pullers installing them!
You need to be very patient to take care of all the bits, I'd get ratty with them and rush! Not one for me
Milo’s superb Audi 100 was over with me in between Christmas and New Year so I could make and fit the custom carpets to finish up the interior. I’ve really enjoyed putting this one together, with just the door cards left to go on once Milo has sound proofed and cavity waxed the doors. The combo of oxblood red and black vinyl looks perfect in this car, with a whole host of items for the car reupholstered: Front seats Rear Bench Parcel shelf Sunvisors Door cards Gear shifter boot Custom Carpets I can’t wait to see this car out and about at some local shows.
A bit of a New Year’s update from me. The main update being that I’m moving out of my Wimborne based workshop after nearly 10 years. With the rent doubling this year it’s no longer a viable hobby space for me so the splitty project will be coming home to our single space garage! I’ve a lot to sort this month to make this happen so watch this space. (apologies for the poor video quality and lighting, my iPhone is slowly dying so I had to record this on my cheap little chromebook).
Doesn't take long to fill a workshop with useful stuff does it? I remember emptying mine. 30ft x 30 ft + a paintshop and a storeroom. Never again!
On a similar note as some of you know we have just moved to Ireland from the IOW and we used the move for a life clear out. Most of our stuff was second hand or quite old so no real emotional attachment. What didn’t fit in the Transit was either sold, given away or dumped and I must say it was a very liberating experience. Although it did seem quite strange to see 63 years of your life packed up in 1 van.
Another set of late bay seats reupholstered in the fabulous rainbow pinstripe fabric. Collected yesterday to go back in Karen’s camper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Milo has fitted the door cards I made for him to the Audi now which really brings the car interior together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
