Hi, I am after a rear light cluster. Just the bit that the bulbs go into, not the lens or rear cover. I also need one of these funny shaped washers too. Not sure they differ, but mine is a 1973 Westy.
the genuine ones from custom and commercial are fantastic ....really bar far one of the best products .....only problem is the screw threads in yours are early and the later/new ones are a coarse thread .....buy new lenses as well
It seems mne take an 8 mm spanner. Not sure if original or previously replaced but 3 of the bolts have rusted off. My lenses are the only 2 years old.....
I was on about the lense screws ......yours like mine is a 73 and had fine lense screws the new bulb holder has coarse screws but you can get new screws .........the bulbholder is a real quality item .....I tried decent second hand but everything was crumbly http://www.customandcommercial.com/...ine_vw_rear_light_housing_8fslash71-79_10392/
Washer just looks like a cut penny washer ...I have some stainless penny washers what size is the hole m5 ,m6 ?
M5 I reckon. It fits to the bottom to screws to latch onto the bodywork. The narrow end allows it to fit over the bolt to clear the plastic housing. Thanks @lhu1281, that explains whey I have been able to get all 3 screws to secure!
I see so your missing the tabs in the body work .....resend me your address and I,ll post 4 out ,I cut them roughly to the pic as well ....Ill check size as well Steve
