There is a continuation of the chassis rail , the last bumper bolt goes through the rail the real inner valance and into the D pillar

  4. So I was right that the bottom horizontal sticky out bit is actually part of the chassis rails?

  5. Shall I put up the other pics from that area?
I remember him having to redo the other side after you pointed out it was all on the wonk.

Hmm. The chassis does overlap the valance a bit but not as far as the captive nut IIRC, you have to add that yourself on a plate as per James's photo? Or maybe it does but you still have to sort the nut yourself. PITA getting that lined up.
    Here's Schofields part.

using el cheapo rear corner the little plate is put in the way you describe but with the better or genuine corners it can go the correct way[IMG][IMG]

im trying to remember too, the captive nut is welded to the bottom of the D pillar , then the inner valance then the chassis rail , may be the chassis only goes of the valance an inch or 2

Well I'm not going to take my bumper off to look but my memory is a small overlap, more like 10mm and "something" is recessed so it all ends up on a level plane for the bumper mounts.
BTW there isn't a bottom on the D pillar. :)

  12. Well it does appear that the chassis rail doesn’t reach as far as I thought

  14. Christ I feel like I’ve just lit a touch paper .. @paradox @davidoft I’ll go to the corner for causing problems lol..
I’m going to spot weld a tab on the inside of the corner though and I’ll take pics so I can prove I’ve prob still done it wrong

  15. No problems caused
It’s an area where lots of parts meet and nearly every bus doesn’t have much left to reference from.
If anything it’s good to refresh the old grey matter and this thread may help people in the future.
