I've not known of any specific torque settings for carbs, I'm sure there are some somewhere.

    Just refit and run.

If they've been refurbed and cleaned they will probably need adjustment to run most effeciently but they should go straight out the box.

  3. Quite likely you'll have to balance the two sides. If badly out of balance it'll sound like the engine's running on 2 cylinders as one carb will be trying to make half of the engine run faster than the other. You can adjust by ear so it sounds right initially but a Carbalancer is pretty cheap.

Jivedubbin, I can't answer your question, but as I'm about to rebuild my own carbs (with a kit from The Carburettor Hospital) question for you if I may - did you get the the throttle spindle bushes repaired or replaced, and if so who did them for you?

Just one thought though, given the the carbs sit on phenolic spacers I would be nice and gentle with the spanner, may be about half or a third of the torque of the same size nuts that hold the manifold to the head.

    Thanks
