  1. everytime I turn the ignition on I need to retune the radio to pick up stations (even where these are preset channels)

Does anyone have an idea of why this is the case?

what jonny says yellow and red wires red to perm live to keep memory yellow to ignition so you cant leave it on, bet you put both to ignition live.

  4. So for the dumb one.... me!

    Red wire to perm live

    Yellow wire to ignition

What are the colours of the perm live & ignition wires?

on the van? no idea you'll need to meter the fuse box and see, double check i'm right with the red is perm live and yellow ignition, google stereo wiring colours it's industry standard nowardays.

  6. remember if you dont drive your bay everyday and youv got a flashing led on ya radio ,the battery will run down ..normally new radios have this feature

  7. On a late, late US Bay they had the keys-in warning buzzer when new - I've read of people using that wire to feed the ignition-based power to the stereo, so you don't actually have to turn the ignition on to get sounds when parked up, just leave the keys in the ignition - it would sort of mimic the accessory position on a modern ignition switch, I suppose.
