G'day all' finished shaping the inner left replacement panel for the front wheel well. I needed to fold the edge on part of the panel best i could find size wise. in the process happy with the fold fits nice I had the piece folded in opposite side until I got the rest right. now to weld it up & then drip check seal it
G'dya all. due to the coldest day in 98 years on Saturday I started the electric window conversion. Quite a simple job with the right parts.I bought new VW winder mechanisms. drilled out the rivets & screwed on the 3 series rear door motors. The gears are identical in size with the VW units. fitted up ready to fit to door tomorrow
I fitted the same a few years ago; you’ll probably find you need to weld washers to the tube to prevent the motor pulling it through the gear assembly. Simple to fit to the doors, the holes just need to be slotted slightly and of course you only use two of the motor mounting bolts. Neat job once it’s done – looks factory.
Hi 77 Westy. the new tube has little teeth that with some work on the motor plastic where it fits will lock into the slots already in the plastic. on my original unit it had to be modified to stop it moving on the tube
Mine also had little teeth that locked into the motor – the tube still pulled through after a while. But it was a used tube, maybe a new one has bigger little teeth.
I pulled set up parts out of ECLECTIC. Getting it ready to taken to the panelbeater for repairs & paint this is the cradle for power train. I have made a couple of mods to it for the Left hand manifold to bolt on the right side. the standard manifold went now where near fitting this set up has moved the flange away from the starter motor. I was going to use V 12 jag mounts but they hit on the manifolds. so back to v8 defender ETC I have 3 sets of rims all had the wrong offset & i had to use spacers out here we aren't allowed to use them on road vehicles. I picked up another set but the have small tyres. i want to run 31 inch hence the guard mods.
G'day All. I set the engine box up on the frame to check for room for the Blower & Power steering pump. I still have to insulate the lower section & cover it with flooring panels. I was able to find room for the Astra Electric pump. plenty of room. I have to fabricate brackets for the cables to hold them. & move them away from the manifold Patterns of what i need started the cut outs
Finally have working shifter made up from Toyota tarago lever & Morse cables & arms fitted to the Hi ace box. https://www.facebook.com/ernie.norley/videos/10222643717830312/ this is the electric handbrake setup using a linear actuator on the Mitsubishi pajero in disc shoes https://www.facebook.com/ernie.norley/videos/10222357102905118/ this is my car tilter very easy to use & safe to work under https://www.facebook.com/ernie.norley/videos/10217855247641550/. we had a campout for the lockdown camping in our yards i hung a hammock. this is a walk around showing some of the kombi https://www.facebook.com/ernie.norley/videos/10221726049489177/
G'day all. a catch up on ECLECTIC. Back from the panel shop. I han fabricated a airvent panel & modified some irrigation fittings to make the holes dimpled. It will have expanded aluminium mesh behind it & havethe camo paint added plus led orange blinkers in the ends blinker installed the tools i used to form the dimples brass valve from old water works & fitting for hose. I drilled the holes out then pressed the fitting into the ally part. fitting rivnuts to secure the guard panel. easiest way to cover up the original cut set by PO. Modifying Harley headlight bezels to fit onto bay rims to form a hood. instead of the clip in ones engine cover prior to paintmarked out using 3 different badges & step drill. then cut with a jigsaw I have to make a 20mm angle iron ally frame to finish it off. Fitting a toyota 4runner rear roll barthis isfitted under the removable canopy on the toyota
Looks brilliant! Now that it's painted the spare wheel location fits in perfectly with the look you've gone for.
Mitsubishi column with a Subaru switch adapted with ally plate Honda prelude seats i still have to fit the KIa Carnival Arm rests to the right side. I have centralised the seats so I sit in line with the steering wheel. The leftone is done fitting up the taillights the air inlet for the Engine. It will have a clear acrylic outer cover open on the bottom the tube will be pvc plumbing with a carbon fibre wrap over it. the air filter will sit in a box below it out of the engine bay. 3rd brake light day time. the light backlights the rim. at night really good affect setting up the winch bracket. I is made to fit front or rear bars with anderson plugs for power I have a 60 series land cruiser heater for the rear passengers. It only had 1 speed so i pulled the motor out & mofified the case to take a Ambulance fan 2speed a lot better flow than the rat wheel fan that was in it.
picked this freebie up after owner couldn't sell it I told him what i wanted it for He didn't think i would be able to fit it. When it didn't sell he said i could have it instead of dumping it. A fair bit of cutting & shaping to fit on the right side over the wheel tub. I will need to space it out from the side wall to alloy the roll bar room to fit BEFORE. ALMOST Tha air filterbox will be mounted in the box with hose going through into the engine box so complete cold air induction through the window vent
