  1. :thinking:Hi, I've just started repairing some dodgy bodywork and hav ran out of steel for making patches (it came with the van), anyone got any recomendations on what thickness I should be buying, on Ebay I've seen both 1.0mm and 1.2mm for sale described as for bodywork. Probably a stupid question, but I'm likely to ask a lot more before I've finished. Cheers.

  2. 1.0mm for nornal external panels

ps try steel stockholders for cheaper larger sheets or most motor factors keep 4 foot square sheets

  3. Cheers for that, I can crack on now.

  4. Take the cover of the washing machine when the wifes not looking

  5. If you've got a local fabricators or alike (they're normally tucked away check yellow pages), go down there and get off cuts from them, half the time they'll give em to you, or give em a drink and come away with loads :)

  6. How dense am I for not considering that, I've used a few local fabricators in the past for work, never even crossed my mind to ask for off cuts. Cheers

  7. Buy a Brazilian bus. They were made out of pretty sheet steel :)
