It’s up and away. Last seen steaming up Barnsley canal.

 

Well that’s a relief! I can’t imagine what the world would have done if them IKEA flat packs had been held up any longer!

 

Does anyone else think that allowing a ship that is longer than the width of the canal, is a bit short sighted?

 

Surely most boats/ships are longer than the width of canals?

 

Didn’t think that through did I? But we’re not exactly talking about the Grand Union.

 

Its probably why you have to have to pay to have a pilot on board while navigating it, not just do it on your own

 

I wonder how often it gets dredged .

We had just finished shovelling muck out of sorry dredging the South Sheffield Navigation ready for a Suez Bi pass the Barnsley canal at Worsbrough was on high alert ready for a container drop. All this planning and prep cost brass so where do we send the invoice to.
