Table for interior

  1. I have laminate floor in my camper and am looking to put a table in the ususal spot between the bed/bench and the buddy seats.

I was looking to get a Floor base with a Chrome table leg.
Does the floor base have to be drilled into the laminate flooring?

    Thanks all

  2. Thats a bit of a ball ache!

No other options so I best get the drill out!!
    cheers mate

  3. I got the JK table kit. Already had all the holes in the floor of my bus, but they weren't the same pitch as the JK one so had to drill more. Don't worry mate it's a 5 min job.
I love putting holes in my bus! :)

  4. Are you happy with the JK table?

I was looking to get a surfboard table, but they are bloody expensive! Are the jk ones a good enough quality?

  5. I picked up an oval coffee table from ikea bargain basement for £7 - took the table top off and cut the end off to make it flush, attached a cream metal leg (£2.25- ikea) and attached the table to the wall. its removable and stores away behind one of my units. Looks just like a surfboard and all for under a tenner. So if you are that way inclined it can be done on the cheap (and with a bit of luck).

  6. Thanks Mabel,

Don't suppose you have any snaps?

  9. This is the only one I have at the moment. If you got a piece of mdf or 12 mm ply you could easily cut it to shape and sand it then varnish, paint or cover in stickers. pick up a screw in leg from ikea or B&Q and it'll be only a fraction of the cost. the only issue you will have is connecting to the wall. I have three dowels in the underneath that sit in three holes in a piece of wood attached to the side of the van. this way I can simply lift off to stow away. I havent made a hole in the floor - its solid enough without - and the leg has a rubber foot so its doesnt slip.

  16. Heres some more photos

This is the bracket on the side of the van - just a piece of wood with three holes drilled in it slightly bigger than the dowels. Secured through the door card with two bolts that also go through a piece of timber to keep it solid.

This is the underside of the table with the three dowels glued into pre drilled holes (already lined up of course)

Leg is an ikea table leg that screws on and off

  17. ^ That's great, exactly the sort of thing we're looking to do in Hamish. Really don't want to be drilling into the floor if I don't have to.
