That big bridge in America…

  1. You’re legally fine with that Alex because your using it for work.

However if you forgot it was in your pocket and went for a few pints after work then that wouldn’t be acceptable in the eyes of the law.

I am aware of what you are saying. I’m just saying it’s a daft law. And yes, I realise that nobody can walk around with a knife these days, but again, it’s down to the intention of why. I’m sure if most of us got stopped in our vans, and the police went through the toolbox you should be carrying, there will be a sharp blade in there for…I don’t know, stripping wire. Doesn’t mean to say that you couldn’t slash someone’s throat with it…it’s whether you intend to. And say for example, someone tried getting into your van, and you whacked them over their head with a wheel brace and killed them accidentally…either way, there should have been some structural defence in front of the bridge supports…

  3. It was still just a terrible incident caused by what appears to be some sort of mechanical failure

I don’t believe this nonsense about it was purposely smashed directly into the support
Just because it happened that way,
Judging from past terrible terror attackers they do usually go for the most horrific outcomes
And not in the middle of the night when there is just a gang of workers going about their business RIP:(

  4. Other bridges do have substantial concrete protection..
Don't know how they would cope with a mega ship like that..?

  5. Seems logical..

No ones claimed it as a terror attack, unlike the Russian murders,

Has caused major disruption to the region though

Why wasn't it in the middle of the channel...?

The related reports included one MAN who put a ship aground texting his girlfriend instead of steering the ship. In fact given that ships crews are still largely male, its far more male vanity and stupidity that leads to that kind of accident..

The truth about the bridge disaster will come out, related to the usual technical causes and the gradual acceptance of near disaster as a norm.
The real disaster ongoing now is the jobs lost in the port and now inbound shipments being dumped in ports hundreds of miles away without any assistance or compensation for getting the goods to where the shipping lines customers paid to have them delivered.

  16. The Costa Concordia disaster is an example of this kind of thing.

I’m no snowflake, I’m just pointing out a fact. Doesn't bother me…clearly, or I wouldn’t have put it up, and someone wouldn’t have taken it down.

But the ‘man’ could have identified as a ‘woman’, because there sort of thing is ‘normal’ nowadays. And I’m not being sarcastic in any way, I’m just pointing out how we are meant to act now, but we all know the truth about how we are ‘meant’ to act now, and reasonable sense. An example is an old joke. A man walks into a drs, and says “ Doctor Doctor, I think I’m a pair of curtains”, to which the dr. replies, “Well, pull yourself together.”
But now, in this day and age, it’s A man walks into a Drs. and says..” Doctor, Doctor, I think I’m a pair of curtains”. To which the dr replies, “ Well…you are then”.
   ;)

That isn’t about how we’re supposed to act it’s about not victimising a person because of their want to identify as… it could also be regarded as being mindful of someone’s mental health or just plain empathy. Some of the stuff you have posted regarding your health could have and possibly would have been ridiculed in a previous time, thankfully it isn’t any longer. Time to move forward re your own mindset bud!
I know it was a joke btw. It always is!

You’re right, but I am made of stronger stuff, with skin thicker than a rhinos, but with the back as waterproof as a duck. I can’t even remember a time when I have felt remotely offended as an adult, I just see things as ‘words’. It’s just a shame that some people think too much about things which do not matter. Everyone has a right to be offended, it’s wether they can be bothered. We are supposed to love each other and get on, in an ideal world. But we don’t live in an ideal world. And there is no victimising of anyone, in my writings. It’s just your perception, which dosnt actually make it right or wrong, as it’s your perception.
Confirmed with the ‘likes’ of @art b and @the2ems .
Or dosnt ‘Like’ mean to agree or find something naturally fulfilling’ anymore?
Happy Easter, by the way, and don’t eat too many chocolate eggs or your cycling shorts won’t fit.;):p Edited because in all the excitement, I forgot to manually spell check as I don’t want to offend anyone’s OCD…[/QUOTE]
